Good hairstyles for growing really short hair?

My boyfriend crashed his motorbike in September and I had a brain haemorrage so I had to have my head shaved for surgery. I had chest length hair which I straightened and really loved. My hair is now about 2cm long and is just starting to get long enough for me to wonder how to style it as it grows. Does anyone have any good ideas? I don't really want it to just hang there but at the same time I don't want to cut lots of it as the purpose is obviously for it to get longer. Any links to good websites would be appreciated.
